Spearhead
Recommended for 7th grade and above.

Activities include shelter building, toboggan shoot, games, GPS navigation, cooking, ice climbing, snow kitting, xc skiing, broomball, snowshoeing.
- 7:30 pm Friday to 2:00 pm Sunday
- Sleep inside Friday night.
Expedition
Recommended for 8th grade and above and half of your crew will need to have already participated in the Spearhead program.

- An advanced trek featuring 2 nights sleeping outside. Explore the entire Tomahawk Property while participating in winter survival, winter games and challenges - The ultimate crew winter camping skills test.
Draft Horse Logging Camp
Recommended for 7th grade and older.
Each Scout will limb a tree, and use a two-person saw to cut the tree into 16' sections. Scouts will then take turns driving a team of draft horses as they pull their log out of the woods. Scouts will cook hardy meals, blacksmith, and learn the legends of Logging in Wisconsin over a hundred years ago.
Dates: January 19-21, January 26-28, February 2-4, February 9-11, February 23-25
Sleeping Outside: Both Friday and Saturday night will be spent in the wood heated cabin.
Dog Sledding
Recommended for 8th grade and older.
NOTE: All submissions received on opening day for Dog Sledding are a request and will be in a “pending” status to be reviewed by the Director based on previous Snow Base attendance, age and rank and notified by the end of the week of their status.
- Scouts will learn all about the sport of dog sledding with trained sled dogs and experience everything it takes to live and work with sled dogs under the guidance of an experienced musher.
- The weekend will consist of a full training program culminating in a solo sled dog run through the forest.
- Check in is between 7:30 and 8:00 Friday night; check-out is 2:00 pm on Sunday.
- Sleep and eat inside. Outdoor sleeping is optional.
Dog Sledding dates: January 5-7,12-14,19-21,26-28 & February 9-11,16-18,23-25
Snow Mobiling
Must be 16 years old on day of riding, Registered in a Venture Crew, and have a valid drivers license before event.
Safe and fun, riders will practice skills in the morning and put on approximately 70 miles riding on County groomed trails that surround camp.
Dates: February 2-4, 2018
Sleeping Outside: Inside on day of riding.Option for outside the other two nights.
Grade Level: Must be 16 with valid drivers license to participate
