Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (ITOLS) and
Webelos Leader Outdoor Training (WLOT)
May 19th to May 20th 2017 at Camp Hinds in Raymond.
ITOLS is the Outdoor training component required to be trained as a Scoutmaster/Asst Scoutmaster. The course will lead the participant through the Be, Know and Do’s of how to deliver instruction in a youth-led BSA unit. We will cover the Basic Scout Skills in Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class from the stand point of teaching to youth. It’s a fun course! We’ll camp, cook, and learn together.
WLOT – is similar to above and designed for Webelos leaders.
You’ll learn:
- How to deliver outdoor skills instruction in a youth-led program, covering basic scout skills while camping, cooking, having fun.
When:
- Arrive 5:30PM Friday May 19, training concludes 5:30PM Saturday May 20
Parking:
- Enter on the River Road (off Webbs Mills Rd) Use upper Parking lot and hike to Tenney Campsite.
Cost:
- $20, payable online, or mail payment to Pine Tree Council, or at the door. PLEASE Do Pre-register.
Friday meals:
- Eat before arrival on Friday or bring a bag lunch
Saturday meals:
- Provided, contact Jim Thomas with food-related issues

What to bring:
- Be Prepared to “sleep in a tent you helped pitch," Tent, sleeping bag, etc.
- Indoor restroom/shower facili3es MAY be provided
- Boy Scout or Webelos Handbook, pen/pencils and notepad
- Additional personal gear (bug spray, pocket knife, sunscreen, hat, etc.) as you deem necessary. Most participants wear their uniform (Preferred!) and bring warm clothes – remember this Time of year can be cold.
