Kennebec Valley District Lego Derby

Join us on November 2, 2024 from 9-4 at Camp Bomazeen to create your own Lego Derby ride. Open to all unit levels and families. Dress warm & bring a camp chair. Lunch will be hot dogs on the grill.

Fill out the Google registration form to hold your place. On race day you will build your lego creation then race it all in one day. Come with some creative ideas. Bring your own Legos, if you want.

Pay at the door - $25.00/person. First 50 kits pre-ordered. Please contact Julie McKenney julie.m.scouts@gmail.com by Oct. 25th to lock in your kit. These are shipped from FL and we place the order at the end of October. 

If you return with your base kit from last year, there will be a $5.00 discount.

What is included in your Kit? Nib Base (.45oz), 3.6oz axles and up to 5oz in legos and glue.

LEGO DERBY RULES

Weight limit - 9oz

NO legos will be placed any further ahead than the front edge of the front tires. The car may be as long on the back as you wish. No accelerants or CO2. Gravity led only!

Axles may be placed anywhere under the car. Clamp them down with pliers to force a good hold.

Car may not exceed 2 ¾” wide or past the outermost edge of the tires.

Total height may not exceed 5 inches.

Participants are encouraged to super glue any pieces that they feel may come loose in the race. Adjustments will be determined by judges.

SCHEDULE

9-10a - Registration, Pick up materials.

9-11a - Build time! Be Courteous and arrive with enough to build and be done on time.

11-11:30a - Car Weigh in and Lunch Break- Bring your own food and water or enjoy the concession sale.

11:30a-3p - Race time! 

3-4p - Awards

4-5p - Clean up - (Many hands make light work)
