2020 Sea Base Trek

PINE TREE COUNCIL TREK
to FLORIDA NATIONAL SEA BASE
The Florida National High Adventure Sea Base is a unique Scouting program that offers aquatics programs found nowhere else. Whether your interests lie in sailing, scuba diving, rustic camping on an undeveloped barrier island, fishing or a combination of all, this is the place for you.
The Pine Tree Council is sending two crews to the Florida Sea Base in 2020 to experience what is the most exciting aquatic facilities and programs in the world. The two crews are for the Out Island Adventure and Coral Reef Sailing where Venturing Participants, Scouts BSA, and leaders will spend a week in and around the Florida Keys.
CORAL REEF SAILING ADVENTURE
Your home for the week will be aboard a 40-foot sailing vessel. Your unit will sail the Middle or Upper Florida Keys and stop midweek at either John Pennekamp State Park or another great location. In addition to sailing, your unit will explore the Florida Barrier Reef and Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, snorkel, fish, crew the vessel, learn navigation, and more! More crews participate in the Coral Reef Sailing Adventure than any other Sea Base adventure. THIS IS A SIX-NIGHT, SEVEN-DAY ADVENTURE
OUT ISLAND ADVENTURE
Looking for a true wilderness experience in the Florida Keys? Participants paddle Polynesian war canoes offshore into the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, set up camp on a primitive barrier island flanked by the Atlantic Ocean, fish, shark fish, ocean kayak, snorkel Munson Rocks and Looe Key, board oceangoing vessels, explore Big Munson Island, and encounter endangered wildlife such as Key deer. Out Island Adventure is action packed! THIS IS A SIX-NIGHT, SEVEN-DAY ADVENTURE.
