Casco Bay Klondike Derby

Start on time; end on time. Registration starts at 8 a.m. Opening Ceremony is at 8:45 a.m. Activity stations open at 9 a.m. Lunch is from 12 Noon to 12:45 p.m. Closing ceremony will conclude not later than 4:30 p.m.

$10 per person includes event emblem patch 

Why come?

Join us on a journey back in time to the age of the first Boy Scouts and their scouting skills. But that’s not all! We will be bringing back the 21st century with us! Compare orienteering with a compass to a GPS locator! Building fire with sticks or flint and steel! We would love to have you join the us this time traveling journey! 

It’s Winter: Dress in layers and hydrate

No question we will be out in the elements whether it is cool, cold or mighty cold. All Scouts should dress in layers, bring gloves and hats, wear boots. Sunny conditions can be deceiving as the terrain may be frozen or messy and the wind can change the effect of even cool temps. You should also remember to hydrate.

Bring your own lunch 

Troops should bring their own lunch. Bringing stoves to make a hot meal is always a good idea. We will have a warming fire going all day, but meals and cooking equipment are a unit responsibility.

Water

Water has been secured for the winter at Bradbury Mountain State Park. Troops should be sure to bring all water they need for drinking, cooking, and cleaning.
