2017 Powderhorn Training Course
POWDERHORN is the Boy Scouts of America’s high adventure expedition training course. The course is open to all Boy Scout and Venture Crew adult leaders, all Venture Scout youth, and Boy Scout youth leaders who are 13 years old and First Class rank or above.
In 2017 the POWDERHORN course will be conducted over a series of consecutive weekday evenings, at the LL Bean Flagship Store in Freeport, Maine.
The Cost of the training will be $60.00 per person. Classes will begin at 6:30 pm and will conclude approximately at 8:30 pm.
Participants must attend 10 of the 14 CLASS dates to complete POWDERHORN.
March 4th and 5th campout will be at Camp Hinds. This campout will serve as a practical application of the 5 prior classes and will also be our classroom for both astronomy and biathlon. Because of the importance of the campout it will count as 2 class dates.
