ITOLS — Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills

ITOLS is a hands-on training course for adult Scouts BSA leaders that builds the practical outdoor skills needed to support a safe, effective, and engaging troop program. Participants learn and practice essential skills including camping, cooking, navigation, knots and lashings, fire building, woods tools, first aid, and Leave No Trace principles.

The course gives adult leaders experience with the outdoor skills Scouts learn from Scout through First Class, while building the confidence to teach, mentor, and lead youth in the outdoors.

ITOLS is required training for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters to be considered fully trained.
