Camp Edgewood Service Day

Event Details

A Scout is Helpful — and we sure could use your help!

We are hosting a Camp Edgewood Cleanup Morning, and we need volunteers to help get camp ready for upcoming events.

This is your camp — come help with maintenance and cleanup!

**UPDATE 10/7/2026** ...LOVE BUG REMOVAL!

Not exaggerating when saying this but is seems to be worst year ever seen.

Every inside surface is covered in love bugs. The dining hall kitchen, Trading Post, and even the camp office are COVERED.

There is photographic evidence - let us know if you need to see it in advance.

So, we’re going to need people to bring pressure washers, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, weed eaters and basically anything capable of helping us reclaim camp from the love bugs!

If it blows, sprays, sucks, cuts, or otherwise looks useful, bring it.

**********************************************

Typical projects may include:
• Preparing camp for upcoming events
• Pressure washing bathrooms
• Repairing structures
• Trail clearing
• Landscaping

Camp service days, often called Beaver Days, are a long-standing scouting tradition where Scouts, units, and families work together to care for council camp properties.

These days help prepare camp for the season and give everyone a chance to give back.

Benefits of volunteering:
• Earn service hours for rank advancement, school, or other requirements
• Help improve Camp Edgewood for all who use it
• Live out the Scout principle of doing a good turn daily

What to bring:
• Work gloves
• Water bottle
• General-purpose tools (if you have them)
• Sunscreen / hat
• Comfortable clothes
• Closed-toe shoes

Important: Volunteers should have a current Annual Health and Medical Record (Parts A & B).

Tentative Schedule:

8:00 AM – Work on projects.

8:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Work on projects

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM – Lunch on your own

1:00 PM – Resume work.

You are welcome to stay as long or as little as your schedule allows—any help is greatly appreciated!

Let’s roll up our sleeves and make a difference together. We look forward to seeing you there!
