Event Background: Slim Gieser was an important leader in Quivira Council from 1987 through 2019.  During his time he took several contingencies to National Jamborees, taught Wood Badge, was involved in District and Council level positions, and always advocated for Scouts to be held to a higher standard.  In his memory, this “Best Patrol Competition” will be focused on the outdoor skills that he believed all Scouts should master.
