Learn about careers in law enforcement!

You are invited to become a member of the Dubuque Police Department Exploring program.  The purpose of this program is to provide you with information about careers in all types of law enforcement, to answer any questions you may have regarding the profession, and to participate in hands-on projects demonstrating law enforcement principles.  In addition, by participating in the program, you are eligible to apply for seven scholarships given only to Law Enforcement Exploring participants!

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

• Crime scene investigation
• Patrol techniques
• Fingerprinting
• K-9 handling
• Firearms handling and safety
• How to conduct traffic stops
• And more!

This program will meet once a month.  The first meeting will acquaint you with the Exploring program and answer any questions you may have regarding the activities and information provided.  There will be an overview of the facilities and you may acquaint yourself with the different law enforcement divisions within the department.  Your parents are welcome to attend this first meeting.

Cost for the program is a $10.00 annual fee.  Payment can be made online ($2 convenience fee applies).

Please contact Melissa with the Exploring office at 563.556.4343 or Melissa.neuhaus@scouting.org if participant is between 18 and 20. The registration fee is the same, but a different form must be used.

If a student is not accepted into the program, the registration fee will be refunded.
