Curious about a career in fire or emergency medical services? This hands-on program introduces you to real-world fire, rescue, and EMS operations. Learn directly from local firefighters and paramedics, explore career pathways, and build skills that prepare you for the future. Explore the fire service through training, teamwork, and real-life emergency response scenarios.

Meeting dates start September 3, 2026 and meet the first and third Thursday of the month from 6-8 p.m. through May 20 , 2027 at the Dubuque Fire Department.

Cost for the program is a $53.00. Payment can be made online ($4 convenience fee applies).

November 5th - Truck equipment
November 19th -HAZMAT
December 3rd - CPR Certification
December 17th -Forcible entry
January 7th - EMS skills/ first aid
January 21st - Mega codes/ scenarios
February 4th - Stop the bleed/ medic unit orientation
February 18th -Search
March 4th - Ladder maintenance
March 18th - Rope rescue
April 1st - Auto extrication
April 15th -Auto extrication
May 6th - Incident command/ RTF skills
May 20th - Boat/ Water ops
