NEW Route: Washington Park (Start) - Jackson Park (End)
Troop 51 will be coordinating the Dubuque area Cub Scout Packs and Scouts BSA Troops in the Dubuque Labor Day Parade that starts at 9:30AM on Labor Day, Monday the 2nd of Sept. We will now be staging the parade at Locust Street from 5th to 8th Street, on 6th and 7th Streets between Bluff and Locust, and all of Washington Park.
All Scouts should be dropped off no later than 9:15 so we can get them together. There is usually no parking and terrible traffic near the Park before the start of the parade so please plan to be there a little early as you may have to walk a few blocks. The Parade will end near Jackson Park and you can pick-up your Scouts there.
Scouts should wear their Class A uniforms and we would recommend a water bottle if it is hot. Troop 51 will have their Troop Trailer, canoe trailer, and several scouts carrying canoe’s and wearing back packs walking in the parade to show off Scouting. Please bring your American and Unit Flags and banners to show off your unit.
Note: Nothing (candy or articles) can be thrown from vehicles and we will have the Scouts hand out BeAScout.org bookmarks from the council to parade spectators to promote recruiting.
