John Deere Dubuque Works is excited to offer a program to provide students with information about careers in many types of engineering, answer questions you may have regarding the profession, and allow you to participate in hands-on activities demonstrating engineering principles.
Explorers will be introduced to a wide array of engineering disciplines and some of the engineers that work in those disciplines. Activities will include introductions to Customer-focused Design, Product Testing, Manufacturing, 3D modeling CAD (Computer Aided Design), Engineering Mathematics, Virtual Reality, and Software. The post will meet 8 times approximately once a month on Thursdays from 5-7:00 p.m. October-April.
There is much interest in this program and spots are limited to 24 students. To apply, please write a one-page essay expressing why you are interested in engineering, why you want to participate in this program, and what you hope to learn. Please mail your registration form (signed by a parent) and your essay to the address below. Your essay MUST be postmarked by September 21st, 2018 to be considered.
