Jurassic World – Cub Experience Camp

June 18-20 and July 9-11

Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts, get ready for an action-packed weekend at Camp Akela! This year’s theme is Jurassic World, where we’ll explore the the history of the Jurassic Period.

History is FUN! Especially dinosaur history! Explore this period of the age of giants. Dinosaurs roamed the continent and lush plants covered the landscape. Come experience a peace of life in the dinosaur age at Camp Akela this summer!

Arrow of Light Scouts can add on a Camp Mitigwa experience day on Thursday again this year.

Registration and Deposit Phase Information

Registering as a Pack or a Family 

• It is suggested to register as a pack to ensure that everyone is camping together and that the Pack recieves all of the benifits of camp together.
  • When registering as a pack you must have the required youth to adult ratio on property at all times
  • All adults must have Safeguarding Youth Training done. 
  • Parents may still attend with their Scouts
  • Packs must use one leader as a contact and use only one registration (Adults and Scouts can be added at anytime)
•  Families may register themseves if your Pack is not attending as a group. Please communcate with your pack before registering.
  • All adults must have Safeguarding Youth Training done. 
  • Except for family camp all youth must be registered Scouts

Registering as a Guest or Setting Up and Using an Account

• The reservation system allows you to register for camp as a guest or set up and use an account. Click HERE for the account setup video.
• As a guest, you will receive a registration email that will allow you to access your registration at any time. You will have to manually enter your Scouts' information. 
• Registering with an account allows easier access to your registration, reports, and roster. (Your email must be linked to your unit as a key 3 to access your council-provided unit roster.)

Deposit (Through January 31, 2027)

• A $25 non-refundable deposit (which will be applied to the final reservation) is due, as well as an estimated number of adults and youth participants.
• When providing estimated participant numbers, please be as accurate as possible.
• The deposit phase ends January 31, 2027.
• After the deposit phase ends, minimum payments per participant will be required upon registration.

Full Registration

• Beginning February 1, 2027, your registration will be active and you can turn on the parent portal to allow your parents to make payment to their individual Scout's registration or make unit payments.

Adding or Reducing Participant Numbers

• You may add to your participants at any time.
• Adult and youth participation fees are due in full on June 1, 2027. 

Cancellations fee: Akela

• From April 1st to May31st there will be a $30 fee for any Scout or Adult that is cancelled (transfers are allowed)
• After June 1st there are no Refunds allowed except per the regular Council Refund Policy
• You may at any time transfer a spot to a different person without penalty
