National Youth Leadership Training -NYLT

WHAT IS NYLT?
National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide all 13 to 20-year-old youth members of the Boy Scouts of America, both male and female, with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home units and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others. Our Council has been able to put together a training team to run this leadership program for male participants only this summer.
SCOUTS AND VENTURERS - WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND?
- You'll have fun and make friends.
- The leadership skills presented will help you throughout your life; within Scouting, Venturing, in school, and later in life.
- Your home Troop or Venture Crew position will become more fun.
- You'll get to learn and practice, teach or show off your new leadership skills.
SCOUTMASTERS & ADVISORS – WHY SHOULD YOUR SCOUTS OR VENTURERS BE SENT TO NYLT?
We provide intensive leadership training using the patrol and EDGE teaching methods that will benefit your scouts and your Troop or Venture Crew.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
Scouts who are at least 13 years old and hold a rank of First Class. Venturers who are at least 14, or 13 and have completed the 8th grade. Venturers should have long-term camping experience. All participants must have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops or Crews within their scouting unit. NYLT is a six-day course.
