Spring Camporee “Time to Train” – April 22-24 – Foster Acres

At the Spring Camporee, tributes will practice their scout skills in various competitions that will prepare them for “The Games” in the Fall. Patrols of up to 8 participants will be known as Districts.

Points earned at this event will NOT carry over to “The Games” , however, awards will be given out at Campfire along with an event patch to participants. (This patch is part of a set. Attend all 4 events to collect the set)

North Qualifier – May 14th – Quarry Springs Park

200 North Park Road Colfax, IA

Attendance is optional but encouraged. Tributes not attending will still be able to participate in “The Games”

Points from this event will be awarded in the amount of 75, 50, and 25 to First, Second, and Third place Districts. Points will be “banked” and WILL carry over and be added to the final score at “The Games”

This event is open to spectators from the public and will be advertised in advance in the local paper.

Cub Scout Packs will be invited to this event. Only Webelos Dens will be permitted to participate in challenges and be eligible for awards. Webelos who attend without their den may be placed in a patrol with another den at administrators discretion. Separate awards given out to Webelos Dens and Scouts BSA Patrols. Webelos will not be permitted to participate at “The Games”.

Facepainting, games, and other activities will be available for Cub Scouts at both Qualifiers.

Awards will be given out for this event along with a patch specific to this event that is part of a set. (Attend all 4 events to collect the set)

Fall Camporee “The Games” – September 23-25 – Scoutland

The Games have finally arrived. This is the event that tributes have been preparing for all year long starting with training at the Spring Camporee. They have banked points at the North and South Qualifiers and honed their skills at Troop meetings to prepare to compete in “The Games”

Bonus points can also be earned from the following three categories to be added to your districts final score:

Adult Leader Training – Districts that are part of a troop where the adult leadership is 50% trained will be awarded 5 bonus points to their final score. 75% trained = 10 points, 100% trained = 15 points.

Membership Growth – Districts will receive 5 bonus points per recruited scout to their troop since annual recharter.

Activities – Districts will be awarded 10 bonus points per Troop/Pack joint activity held since January 1, 2022. Attendance at the North and South Qualifiers will not count toward these bonus points.

Troops with mulitple districts entered will receive same bonus points.

The deadline for eligibility for these points in 5:00 PM on 9-21-22.

Event Patches 

The silver border patch will be given to all participants that attend the events. The first event you attend you will receive the Center patch along with the rocker for that event. Each event you attend afterwards you will get that events rocker. If you are unable to attend an event and want to purchase that missing rocker (or if you would like to purchase additional sets) the cost is $5 per patch.

The gold boarder patch will be given to anyone who staffs one of the events. They will receive the full set even if they only serve on staff at one of the events. We will also be putting a set on plaques to be awarded to each of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners at each of the 4 events. We will be selling the gold boarder set as a fundraiser as for the Woodland Trails District at $50 per set.
