This event is clearly a cold weather activity, so Scouts and leaders alike must arrive dressed to spend the entire day outside. Be Prepared! Remember, wear layers and stay dry!

Use of the Scout Handbook is encouraged, and points will not be deducted for its use. Patrols can earn points for successfully completing the tasks of the station and for teamwork, leadership and attitude. Station leaders will award up to 10 gold nuggets to the patrol with a brief explanation of their score. The nuggets must be kept securely. Points may be deducted if the patrol did not bring items listed in the gear list. Please help to make this an event to be proud of. The Scout Oath and Law should guide the behavior of everyone attending the event. Leave No Trace: Since we urge Scouts to reduce waste going to a landfill, we will award a gold nugget to those who bring their own bowl, cup and eating utensils, and a second gold nugget to those who wash their own items after lunch. Wash stations will be set up in Bear Creek Lodge. Only 1 gold nugget will be possible for those who bring their own, but disposable, dinnerware. Scouts get to add the gold nuggets to their Patrol’s overall stash, which get turned at the end of the day for extra points!
