Cub Scout Rangemaster training certifies adult volunteers (18+) to supervise BB gun, archery, and slingshot activities at council-managed events, Valid for two years, this training covers range setup, safety, equipment maintenance, and shooting techniques. It is crucial that Cub Scout shooting sports are only run by certified individuals at district or council events, not at the pack level.
Key Aspects of Rangemaster Training
- To train adults to safely conduct archery and BB range activities at day camps, resident camps, or district events.
- Certification is typically valid for two years.
- Covers range setup, safety commands, equipment care (using a bow stringer, cleaning guns), and mentoring Cub Scouts.
