2024 - #WoW Talk Teen Cafe May Meeting

Event Details

Today's youth face the greatest risk of developing and living with severe depression or mental illness, experts warn, and Indiana University Health and North Central Health Services have funded the Sagamore Council to support our efforts to address teens' struggles by hosting a series of Teen Cafe/WowTalks!

#WoWTalk (Words of Wisdom) Cafés, referred to as Teen Cafés, are provided through Be Strong Families.

Be Strong Families created structured, small group conversations called Cafés aimed at healing, building community and peer-to-peer relationships and engaging teens as partners in the programs that serve them.

“Teen Cafés are physically and emotionally safe spaces where teens talk and listen to each other on topics that matter to them. Through individual deep self-reflection and peer-to-peer learning, participants explore their strength, learn about the Protective Factors and create strategies from their own wisdom and experiences.”

This cafe is open to all teens, regardless of they are in Scouting or not! The more the merrier!

The session will be led by two trained facilitators and slightly older peers to the teens in the session.

If you have questions or concerns, contact Bryon Haverstick at bryon.haverstick@scouting.org or 765-250-6139.
