The Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS) expands the concepts of Scoutmaster training and provides Scouters with the confidence to take youth into the outdoors. The course emphasizes the patrol method of Scout-led troop programs. Participants should complete the course with confidence to take Scouts safely into the outdoors. Along with Scoutmaster Specifics, this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Scout Troops to be considered “trained”.

BALOO is designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for leaders interested in adding a camping component to their Pack activities. BALOO training consists of an online pre-requisite component in addition to an overnight hands-on practical. Scouting America's Cub Scout level camping policies will be taught along with the discovery of the necessary tools to help units carry our a successful camping experience. Completion of this course is mandatory for a MINIMUM OF ONE adult on a Pack overnighter.

These courses are an excellent foundation for the more advanced Wood Badge course.

Please bring your own tent for tent camping and any necessary camping supplies. Additional packing list details will be shared to you by our instructors prior to the course. Food will be provided. Check-in is between 6-8pm on Friday, the 17th, and the training will conclude Sunday afternoon, the 19th.
