UNIFORM:

Scouts should wear their Class A (at least shirt) uniform through the sessions.

MERIT BADGE INSTRUCTORS:

Top-notch merit badge counselors/instructors are critically important to the success of this Merit Badge Lock-in program.  We are blessed with an incredible array of talented/skilled/well-educated people that have volunteered their time to this program. Instructors contact information, should any Scouts in their classes have a need to follow up with them afterwards, will be provided to leaders at registration.

CHECK-IN and ATTENDANCE:

All participants are required to check in at the entrance lobby of PHHS (near the Arabian).  There, they will pick up their registration packet.  Check-in starts at 7:00 a.m.. and will end promptly at 7:45 a.m. Each Scout and Leader must check in individually at the registration desk and pick up their packet.  Attendance will be taken at the beginning of every class.  It will be the Scouts responsibility to affirm his presence in class.

MEALS:

The cost of lunch is included in your registration fee.  Snacks and candy will be made available for purchase throughout the day to support the local Order of the Arrow chapter.

COURSE AVAILABILITY:

Scouts per Class:  If there is a higher demand for a particular subject, we will try to accommodate more students with additional counselors or increased class sizes. However, if you really want to take a class, register EARLY, since registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and all classes have limits.

BLUE CARDS:

These will be used and a hard copy provided.  Fill out the basic information needed on the blue card before attending any class sessions.  Please do not ask the merit badge counselor to fill out basic information.  Please help your Scouts have the blue card ready to go before class time.  Scouts are responsible for completing and bringing pre-requisite work for review by the instructors. Blue cards will be available at registration or you may have one filled out from your home troop.

PRE-REQUISITES:

Please use the event class catalog provided in the right hand menu for a list of all pre-requisites.

SCOUTS SHOULD READ their merit badge pamphlets and be familiar with the subject. All merit badge counselors are Merit Badge Counselor and Youth Protection trained and registered with the BSA.  Each one has been instructed to complete instruction as necessary to meet the requirements of their respective merit badge subjects as they are written, no more or less will be required.  Instructors may share additional information beyond the requirements but cannot make the additional information required knowledge.  If a Scout is not able to fully complete the requirements of a Merit Badge, he will need to follow up with his troop advancement chairman to finish those requirements.  Credit will be given for all work completed during the event, even if it is for a partial merit badge.
