Mounds State Park - Good Turn for Nature Fall Service Project
Good Turn for Nature, September 19 - November 4, 2018 at a participating parks, nature centers, or natural areas.
The Good Turn for Nature is a council service project aims to engage Scouts directly in acts of conservation. Scouts will participate in activities at multiple sites across central Indiana learning about the importance of caring of nature.
Identified conservation projects include:
- Trash pick-up.
- Weed cutting.
- Tree / plant identification.
- Bird identification.
- Trail maintenance.. and much more!
Project: Wildlife Observation Room Winter Preparation at Mounds State Park
Scouts will cut weeds and prepare the turtle enclosure for winter (laying mulch, gathering leaves, etc.).
Number of Scouts: 10 or less
Grade Range: Kindergarten -12th

Project: Campground Trash Pick-Up at Mounds State Park
Scouts will pick up litter.

Scouts will help with event set-up and assist in screening for artifacts.
