Every Scout deserves a trained leader. The University has courses for first time or seasoned leaders and is the premier training event for the Crossroads of America Council. This University is the easiest way for leaders to achieve their personal training and leadership goals. This training event is designed to supplement the training experience for any Scout leader. The University offers courses that include skills training, interpersonal skill training and unit management process training. Four degrees are available as follows:

Degree Program Requirements

Note: All degrees are eligible for the appropriate rocker for your personal University Patch.

Bachelor’s Degree (If this is your 1st year of attendance):

1. Be position trained for your registered position and be Youth Protection Trained (YPT).
2. Complete six class periods from any area.
    

Master’s Degree (If this is your 2nd year of attendance):

1. Hold a Bachelor’s Degree from this University or any other College or University.
2. Be current in Youth Protection training (YPT).
3. Be Position Specific trained for your registered position which can include training completed at this University.
4. Complete six additional class periods from any area.

Doctor of Scouting Degree (Ph.D.) (If this is your 3rd year at the University):

1. Hold a Master’s Degree from this University or any other College or University.
2. Be current in Youth Protection training (YPT).
3. Be Position Specific trained for your registered position which can include training completed at this University.
4. Complete a written thesis / project under the mentoring and approval of the Doctoral Dean.
5. Complete six (6) courses that must include:
   •    Completing the four (4) required Ph.D. courses.
   •    Complete two (2) additional class periods from this University and/or teach a class or two.
6. Your degree recognition will be awarded at the next year’s University of Scouting.

Continuing Education Degree (If this is your 4th or ongoing year, you would do the following):

1. Be current in Youth Protection training (YPT).
2. Be Position Specific trained for your registered position which can include training completed at this University.
3. Hold a Ph.D. or Master’s Degree and have a desire to continue learning.
4. Complete six (6) more class periods from any area.
5. There is no limit to the number of Continuing Education Degrees you can earn at this University.
