2020 Themed Weeks at Camp Belzer

 

 


Wilderness Week 

An outdoor themed week focusing on outdoor survival, safety, and best practices.  Through activities and lessons children will learn the skill necessary to survival and safety in the wilderness.  Local experts will lead activities and lessons that will provide guidance on the key principles of living in the wilderness.

May 1, 2020:
BSA Member: $155 early fee due
Non-BSA Member: $175 early fee due
Adult: Free

June 1, 2020:
BSA Member: $180 regular fee due
Non-BSA Member: $200 regular fee due
Adult: Free

STEM Week

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) week will serve those individuals who are interested in learning how and why the things in our world are the way they are.  Fun and educational activities lead by experts will satisfy even the most inquisitive child.

May 1, 2020:

June 1, 2020:
BSA Member: $180 regular fee due
Non-BSA Member: $200 regular fee due

Fur, Feathers, and Ferns Week

Like wilderness week this week is outdoor themed but the similarities stop there.  This week will be focused on the science of conservation and the natural and unnatural processes that affect the environment around us.  Professional and volunteer experts will be leading educational and fun activities that provide children the opportunity to see the environment around them in a new light.

May 1, 2020:
BSA Member: $155 early fee due

June 1, 2020:
BSA Member: $180 regular fee due
Non-BSA Member: $200 regular fee due

Aquatics Week

An aquatics week says it all in the name! This week is based on all of the great aquatic activities.  Children will be boating and swimming while learning water safety and new skills.  With highly trained lifeguards and instructors children will have the opportunity to get into the water everyday and learn more about swimming, water rescue, and boating.  While drop and pick up is at Camp Belzer, participants will be transported to Camp Kikthawenund to participant in these activities.  Lunch is not provided during this week.

Shooting Sports Week

A shooting sports themed week focusing on proper firearm usage, firearm safety, and shooting skills.  Depending on the child’s age, they will be given the opportunity to fire firearms such as BB guns, Air Rifles, .22 Rifles, and shotgun.  Highly trained experts will be leading demonstrations and instruction to improve shooting skills while emphasizing firearm safety.  While drop and pick up is at Camp Belzer, participants will be transported to Camp Kikthawenund to participant in these activities.  Lunch is not provided during this week.

Attendance at Camp Belzer includes youth lunch, a patch, and all activities. Adults are free, and encouraged to attend if they desire, but not required. Younger siblings and friends may attend Camp Belzer and participate in other programs, such as our Belzer Day Camp.  Click Here for more information about our programs for youth who just completed the Kindergarteen and 1st grade. 

Non-Scouts who just completed the 2nd through 8th grade are welcome to attend.  Parents that attend with the participant may also bring their child five years and under to tag-a-long and participate in most programming for a fee. A parent must be attending with the tag-a-long.

Beginning December 1, 2019 - A $50 non-refundable deposit per participant is due, you must provide a name and if applicable a BSA rank for each spot you have reserved. â€‹Full payment is expected 2 weeks prior to your camp week.  Everyone in camp - Scouts, leaders, and tag-a-longs - must submit a completed health form found here.
