Boating & Fishing Day
Spend a fun-filled outdoor adventure on the water at our Boating & Fishing Day! Scouts will enjoy hands-on experiences in boating, watercraft safety, and basic fishing skills—perfect for beginners and experienced anglers alike.
NOTE: WHEN YOU REGISTER, PLEASE SELECT THE SCOUT RANK FOR THE 2026–2027 SCHOOL YEAR.
What to Expect
- This is a family-oriented event. A parent/guardian must attend with their Scout, OR the Cub Scout Pack must provide leadership.
- This is not a drop-off event.
- Please arrive at the start of the hour or 30 minutes after the hour to allow time for instructions, equipment fitting, and safety guidelines.
- This Adventure Day is not a full-day structured program. Scouts only need to stay long enough to complete their adventure requirements, but they are welcome to remain and continue participating in activities as long as the event is open.
- Once a Scout completes the necessary requirements, they may continue enjoying the activity (boating, fishing, etc.) if space and safety guidelines allow.
- Scouts who complete all adventure requirements will receive their Boating & Fishing belt loop during the event.
- Scouts BSA youth may complete First Class boating-related requirements, including:
- Safe trip afloat precautions
- Identifying parts of canoes, kayaks, boats, paddles, and oars
- Proper body positioning in watercraft
*Note: Scouts wishing to participate in the Boating Adventure must complete the Scouting America Swim Test prior to attending this event.
* Note2: WEBELOS, & Arrow of Light Scouts wishing to earn their Boating Adventure must complete requirement 5 (Jump feet first into water over your head while wearing a life jacket. Then swim 25 feet wearing the life jacket) prior to this event. This requirement may be completed at the May Aquatics Day or independently before arrival, as it is not offered during the Boating & Fishing event.
