Spring BALOO/IOLS 2021

Event Details

Baloo Training

Come have fun & learn outdoor skills
You will learn: camping, fire safety, basic first aid, & many outdoor skills. Come for the classes and stay for the fun.
Baloo training is required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event including pack camping overnights and Webelos den overnights. Training is recommended for any Cub Scout leader or parent who wants to help plan and carry out an outdoor experience for the pack.

Follow the instructions below for the prerequisite training for BALOO Training:

Log in to My.Scouting.

in the upper left click on menu then My Training.

A new tab will open click in expaned learning and Find BALOO and click take course.

What to bring:
Tent
Sleeping bag & pillow
Camp chair
Mess kit (plate, bowl, fork, spoon, camp mug/cup) eating utensils will not be provided
Pocketknife or multitool 
A first-aid kit
Class B Shirt (camp shirt) & Clothing to match the weather.
Rain gear –Plan for the weather
Flashlight
Water Bottle & Camp mug
Matches and/or a fire starter
Sunblock, sunglasses, lip balm, hat
Lots of questions
Great sense of Humor!

IOLS Training

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills
A fun filled program of hands-on skills training in the outdoors, designed to help you master basic camp skills required for Tenderfoot to First Class. Instructors will help you learn how to set up camp, cook, work with wood tools & ropes, first aid, planning campfire programs, map reading and compass skills, hiking & packing techniques, nature identification, and Outdoor Ethics.  It will increase your comfort level and give you confidence as a trained, skilled leader.  Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters are considered trained when they have completed Youth Protection Training, Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills.

SM Handbook (if available)
