Congratulations and welcome to the Hoosier Trails Council Pinewood Derby! 

All drivers racing in this event have competed in their own Pack Pinewood Derby earlier this year. Your driving skills and sportsmanship will be on public display today. Cheering on your car, and fellow driver’s cars, has been rumored to increase the speed of the car as it runs down the track. So…. Yelling, screaming, and cheering on your car as it rips down the track is expected. 

Rules: 

Width shall not exceed 2-3/4 inches. 

Length shall not exceed 7 inches. 

Weight shall not exceed 5 ounces. 

Axles, wheels, and body shall be from the materials provided in the kit. Official Pinewood Derby wheels can be purchased separately and used. 

Wheel bearings, washers, and bushings are prohibited. 

No lubricating oil may be used. Axles may be lubricated with powdered graphite or silicone. 

The car shall not ride on any kind of spring. 

The car must be free-wheeling, with no starting devices. 

No loose materials of any kind are allowed on the car. 

Each racer will race four (4) times (once per lane) and the fastest time is their scoring time
