Welcome to the Hoosier Trails Council Registration to Join Scouting!

This registration is for NEW youth and adults to are going to join scouting in Hoosier Trails Council. 

Hoosier Trails Council wants to make scouting as affordable as possible for the families in our communities. For a limited time the Council is helping to remove the financial barrier through our New Scout Access Fund by deferring the majority of their upfront costs for their first-year registration and giving every Scout a clear path to earn their way through participation in popcorn sales. The actual cost of youth registration is $145 but your family pays only $25 today.

How It Works

Family pays $25 per Scout at sign-up

• Scout commits to selling $500 in total popcorn sales (approximately 25 bags) during the 2026 Fall Popcorn Sale, which runs August 15th through October 31, 2026
• Council covers the remaining first year of registration costs upfront, both National and Council fees
• Families register and pay online during the window for this promotion at the discounted rate
• Families not selling popcorn pay the other youth registration fee which is the regular fee of $145.

Adults who register to be “Direct Contact Leaders” with the unit will pay $0

• The Council covers the full amont for the first year of registration costs. All other adults pay the regular $65 registration fee.
• Adult Leader Requirement: Must agree to complete required training within 60 days – Position Specific and Safeguarding Youth Training.

Who Is Eligible?

Youth:                                              

• New Scouts joining during the program window
• Applies to multiple children in the same family

ADULTS: Serving in one of these positions

• Cubmasters
• Den Leaders
• Assistant Den Leaders
• Scoutmasters
• Assistant Scoutmasters

Program Timeline: Ends November 30, 2026. Scouts must join before this end date to participate in the reduced registration cost benefit.
