Cub Scout Leader - BALOO Training + Family CAMPING

BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) is the BSA-required training that certifies at least one adult leader per pack for den and pack campouts. The course walks leaders through trip planning, campsite safety, Leave No Trace principles, and how to run a fun, age-appropriate outdoor program for Cub Scouts — everything you need to feel confident taking your den into the outdoors. BALOO is a two-day course designed to teach Pack parents and new Cub Scouts leaders with minimal camping experience how to plan and carry out an entry-level outdoor experience for the pack.  Completion of this course will result in increased confidence and a willingness to plan a pack campout and qualifies the participants for the 2-Deep Leadership that are BALOO-trained required on Cub campouts! 

While one leader is in the training, someone will need to keep an eye on the kids — so bring along another leader, a spouse, a grandparent, or another trusted adult to share the weekend. Camp Louis Ernst has a huge property for the whole family to explore together: go fishing, hit the hiking trails, or try your hand at orienteering while the training is underway.
