NYLT is an immersive, high-energy leadership experience designed to help Scouts develop the confidence and skills needed to lead effectively -- in their troop, community, and beyond.

What is NYLT?  NYLT is a six-day course that simulates one month in the life of a troop.

Participants will:

• Strengthen communication skills
• Learn how to teach and lead others
• Practice problem-solving and decision-making
• Build confidence in their leadership abilities
• Apply modern leadership concepts in real time

How the Course Works 

• Scouts are placed in mixed-gender patrols of 4-6 participants
• Patrols include Scouts from across Indiana
• The course takes place in an outdoor troop and patrol setting
• Leadership skills are taught and immediately practiced through:   
  • Activites
  • Presentations
  • Challenges
  • Discussions
  • Games                                                                                                                     

Concepts are introduced early in the week and built upon each day, helping participants quickly understand and apply what they learn.

• $50 non-refundable deposit holds your Scout's spot
• Early Bird discount: $345 if paid in full by March 31, 2026
