Orienteering Meet

The Abraham Lincoln Council eagerly recommends your participation in an Orienteering Meet on September 25-27, 2026, at Camp Bunn. This event is open to all Scouts and Scouters, Troops, Crews, and Posts. Events for adults are being planned.

By definition, orienteering is a cross-country race in which participants use a highly detailed map and a compass to navigate their way between checkpoints along an unfamiliar course.

All participants will draw their own orienteering route on a map, use a compass to orient the map, and then locate all the markers. Scoring includes accuracy and timeliness. Participants are divided into age categories.
