July 2026

The biggest event in Scouting!

Jamboree is Scouting’s flagship event that gathers of tens of thousands of Scouts, Scouters, and Jamboree Service Team members from all over the country for a 10-day showcase that includes everything that is great about Scouting America. Scouts will enjoy more than five miles of zip line and challenge courses, 36 miles of mountain bike trails, and 13 acres of shooting sports ranges on a sprawling 10,600-acre site designed for excitement! There are also world-class venues for kayaking, rock climbing, bouldering, skateboarding, BMX, plus enjoy arena shows and more. As you can see, Jamboree is not summer camp - it is 360 degrees of fun, friends, and fellowship with hands-on adventure that takes you places you never thought you’d go and challenges you to try things you never thought you could do. There will be no shortage of opportunities to build Scouting memories!

With the theme of "Elevate", Scouts and Scouters will ELEVATE their Scouting experience by exploring all kinds of adventures in the heart of one of nature’s greatest playgrounds, the Bechtel Summit Reserve in West Virginia. Jamboree is only held once every four years, so claim your ticket for the 2026 Jamboree and get ready to ELEVATE your Scouting adventure!

Date

Jamboree events are held July 22-31, 2026. Travel dates to and from the Jamboree will be determined as the Council Contingent is formed and travel plans are finalized.

Qualifications

For Scouts to attend the 2026 Jamboree, you must:

  • be registered with Scouts BSA Troop in the Abraham Lincoln Council
  • be 12 years of age before the start of the National Jamboree but have not reached your 18th birthday by the last day of the National Jamboree
  • be at least First Class rank by June 1, 2026 [editorial note not for website: this requirement is not part of the Jamboree requirements, but is listed by many councils that I have researched. I concur with this requirement because it means that a Scout has at least practiced a wide variety of Scout skills. I would not be comfortable taking a Scout who has little to no experience with any Scout skills on an extended event like this]
  • be an active participant in pre-Jamboree training experiences with our council and contingent unit leaders
  • be willing to follow the Code of Conduct, Commitment to Safety and other guidelines of the National Jamboree and Abraham Lincoln Council

Council Contingent

Scouts who participate in the Jamboree register as part of their local council contingent.

  • Scouts going to the Jamboree are formed into a Scouts BSA unit sponsored by the council and staffed by council-approved volunteers
  • The unit will prepare, travel and camp together for the Jamboree
  • Scouts will be eligible for a variety of leadership roles in the unit
  • Space is limited to 18 Scouts BSA members

Cost and Payment Schedule
