Level I Climbing Instructor Training

Help take our climbing program to new heights by becoming a certified Level 1 Climbing Instructor! This training prepares adult leaders to safely facilitate climbing activities on the Abraham Lincoln Council’s climbing towers while following Scouting America policies and procedures.

Two training dates are available:
• May 31, 2 PM - 5 PM
• June 10, 9 AM - 12 PM

Participants will learn climbing safety, equipment usage, spotting and belay techniques, risk management, and program operation requirements needed to support council and unit climbing activities.

Requirements:
• Current registration with Scouting America
• 18 years old or older
• Current successful completion of Scouting America’s Safeguarding Youth Training (formerly Youth Protection Training)
• Completed the online Climb On Safely Training
• Completed the online Hazardous Weather Training
