National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide youth members of Scouting America with the leadership skills and experience they can use in their home units and in any other situations that require leadership of self or leadership of others. It is open to Scouts ages 13-17, as well as Venturers and Sea Scouts ages 14-20.

Youth Attendees who are interested and meet the criteria, need to seek approval from their Unit Leader, and can then Apply through this Application. The NYLT Core Staff will then review all applicants and will select from those applicants Scouts that are offered the opportunity to attend NYLT.

• Be currently registered in Scouting America.
• Be at least 13 years old.
• Hold the rank of First Class or above if they are in the Scouts BSA program.
• Have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops/Crews.
• Receive approval of their unit leader and selection by the council NYLT committee.
• Have a Scouting America Medical Form with Parts A, B, and a copy of Part C that will be valid through the end of the course. 

Unit leaders may need to prioritize Scouts that have applied as space is limited.
