Explore the origins of the Scouting movement by earning the Scouting Heritage Merit Badge. Scouts will learn about the life and times of Lord Baden-Powell, discover how Scouting grew in the United States, and understand how Scouting’s programs have developed and adapted over time.

For prerequisites, Scouts will need to do the second part of #5:  Create a report on the history of your troop and present it (oral and/or written) to your troop or at a Court of Honor. This will be counted as complete if they present the history at the merit badge session. We will cover Council history for the first part of that requirement. The other prerequisite is #6: Make a collection of personal Scouting patches/memorabilia/photos. Show and explain it to your counselor.
