Complete Your Range & Target Merit Badges

Hosted by the Illowa Council Range & Target Activities Committee

Already started your Archery, Rifle Shooting, or Shotgun Shooting Merit Badge but still need to complete the shooting requirements? This special Range & Target Activities session gives Scouts BSA youth the opportunity to finish specific live-fire requirements with the guidance of qualified instructors at Camp Loud Thunder.

Please note: This event is intended only for Scouts who have already started one of these merit badges. Participants must bring their partial Blue Card to verify completed requirements.

Merit Badge Completion Options

• Archery Merit Badge
  • Cost: $2
  • Complete the following requirement:
  • Shooting Requirement Option B, Requirement 2
• Rifle Shooting Merit Badge
  • Cost: $6
  • Complete the following shooting requirements:
    • Option A, Requirement 2k
    • Option A, Requirement 2l
  • Includes 25 rounds of ammunition and targets. Additional ammunition and targets are available for $4 per 25 rounds.
• Shotgun Shooting Merit Badge
  • Cost: $20
  • We will work on completing shooting requirements.
  • Includes the required ammunition and targets for the course. Additional ammunition and targets are available for $15 per 25 rounds.

About This Event

This program is designed specifically for Scouts who need to complete the live-fire portions of a previously started merit badge.

This is not a complete merit badge opportunity. Scouts should have already begun the merit badge and arrive with a partial Blue Card documenting completed requirements.

For the safety of all participants, personal firearms and ammunition are not permitted.

• Weather-appropriate clothing
• Water bottle
• A positive attitude and readiness to complete your merit badge requirements

Registration

Registration is open through Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at midnight.

Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
