Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)

BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) is the required outdoor training course for Cub Scout leaders and parents who want to help plan and participate in Cub Scout camping activities. At least one BALOO-trained adult must be present on every Pack or Den overnight campout. The course covers both basic Cub Scout camping skills and Webelos camping instruction, helping leaders gain the knowledge and confidence needed to safely lead outdoor adventures.
The course will be held at Camp Loud Thunder in Illinois City, Illinois, beginning Friday evening and concluding Saturday afternoon. Participants should be prepared for a late Friday session, and an overnight stay is required. Registration fees include course materials, breakfast, and lunch on Saturday.

Participants should bring a tent, sleeping gear, personal overnight supplies, a water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing, and Scouting America Annual Health & Medical Record Parts A & B.
