Illinois Beach State Park Clean Up Service Project

Event Details

Help get Illinois Beach State park ready for the camping season!  Volunteers will rake, pick up branches, and do other projects as needed in the park campground and surrounding area near the beach.

Suitable for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, OA, Youth Groups, Community Groups, and pretty much everyone who can use a rake or pull a tarp. This is a great way to earn those volunteer hours required for advancement or honor societies.

Be prepared for the weather! This time of year the weather is changeable, so bring warm/waterproof shoes/boots, layered clothes so you can add or remove as needed, and be sure to have work gloves.

Bring your own tools!  BE SURE TO LABEL THEM!!!

  • rakes
  • tarps
  • loppers/branch cutters
  • work gloves
  • shovels (only a few are needed)

Everyone is welcome to camp for FREE on Friday and/or Saturday nights. (You must provide your own meals outside of Saturday's lunch.)

If you are camping Friday night please arrive between 5 & 8pm. GATES ARE LOCKED AT 9PM. Campsites will be assigned by our staff.

If you coming out for Saturday, please arrive at 7:30 am. Please eat breakfast before you arrive.

Hosted by North Star District Activities Committee, this event is open to  EVERYONE - Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Youth Groups, Community Groups. All we ask is that you please REGISTER so we can plan for food.
