Wilderness First Aid/CPR Training Campout

Brief Description of the Event

 

This course is for Scouts 14 years old and above as well as adults

The course will be taught during the weekend campout at Camp Crown and will include CPR Training.  It will have opportunities for more hands-on learning scenarios for Wilderness First Aid Training.

Wilderness First Aid Training requires 16 hours of class work and hands-on training.

NORTHEAST ILLINOIS COUNCIL UNITS: Use the Autofill button next to each participant spot to add names. If a name is not listed, use the Update Information button instead. Contact your Unit Leader if they should be on our list to ensure the participant is properly registered; include Debi Geiger or Sam Dummer in the email so they are informed of their BSA status.

Pre-Course Requirements 

  • Required Pre-Camp Meeting: Thursday, April 11, 2024, 6 pm to 7 pm: This pre-camp meeting is required for all attendees at the Northeast Illinois Council Kasperson Center, 850 Forest Edge Dr, Vernon Hills, IL 60061
  • Current YPT Date: All Adult participants must provide a current Youth Protection Training (YPT) date when registering online.
  • Bring a copy of your CPR Certificate if you only need WFA Training, or arrive in time to take CPR training at Camp Crown (see times below).

FRIDAY, APRIL 26 SCHEDULE:

  • 12 pm to 1 pm: CPR Training Check-in at Camp Crown
  • 1 pm to 8 pm: CPR Training (bring a sack meal for dinner)
  • 5 pm to 7 pm: Wilderness First Aid Training Check-in at Camp Crown (bring sack meal for dinner if needed)
  • 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm: WFA Opening Information Class (basic first aid)
  • 8:15 pm: Lights Out

THE REST OF THE SCHEDULE WILL BE PROVIDED UPON CHECK-IN AT CAMP CROWN

BSA Required Training for High Adventure Activities: Units must have at least two participants with Wilderness First Training on the trek to ensure they are well-equipped to handle emergencies.  This requirement can be met by youths or adults. 

Those who have already completed Wilderness First Aid and CPR Training must show certification documents during check-in at Camp Crown.
