Pinewood Derby Races-Council Edition

Is your Pack looking for a way to hold your Pinewood Derby?  

This year, NEIC has a track set up for in-person & virtual Pinewood Derby Races and a team of dedicated volunteers who will be able to run and live-stream your Pack’s Race for you to watch trackside or from the comfort of your own home!  Please register as a Pack, not separately as families.  (No individual registrations will be accepted.) Thank you!

Car Inspection:  All cars must be inspected and approved by the Pack prior to being dropped off at the council office at least two days before the date of your race. 

Please remember to drop off the Inspected Pinewood Derby cars and registration spreadsheet at the Kasperson center before 5 PM, the Friday before your race weekend.

Sessions: 

Duration: 90 minutes
Maximum Capacity: 50 cars per Start Time

Start Times:

• 9:00 AM
• 10:30 AM
• 1:00 PM
• 2:30 PM

Packs can sign up for as many sessions as necessary to total the number of cars they need to race.

Smaller Packs will be grouped together, and results will be separated by Packs.

Pinewood Derby Workshop on January 28 (registration closes Jan. 26th!) - For the woodworking stages of your car only, please paint them at home.

*A 3% Processing Fee will be assessed for all online Credit Card payments. **A 0.5% Processing Fee will be assessed for all online e-Check payments. *** Checks sent or brought to 850 Forest Edge Drive, Vernon Hills, IL 60061 will not be assessed this Processing Fee. Make sure the Memo line mentions your registration number.
