New for our August Campout: Friday evening and Saturday evening Crackerbarrels [Snacks] will be provided, but meals and cooking will be the responsibility of your Pack, Den, or Family. The schedule will be adjusted to allow cooking and clean-up time. The registration cost has been reduced to reflect this update.

Pack Family Campouts are hosted by the NEIC as an opportunity for Families and Packs to enjoy a weekend together at Camp Crown, with various program areas open and opportunities to join in planned activities, or to have fun on your own! These weekends are an excellent opportunity for “first-time tent campers” to get introduced to camping and to learn new skills, as fellow leaders and volunteers will be available to assist with tent setup and other skills. Evening snacks are provided.

Meals: New for our August event, main meals are the responsibility of your Family, Den, or Pack. The registration cost has been reduced to reflect this update. Check out our attachments section for recipe ideas or follow this think for more resources. Friday evening and Saturday Evening Crackerbarrels (evening snacks) are provided.

Friday (optional): Packs and Families are welcome to add Friday night to your registration. meals will be on your own but an evening snack will be provided during the Friday night movie!

Saturday: Check in and set up your campsite starting from 9 AM - 11 AM. There are optional self-guided gathering activities during this time. Activities open after lunch and run through Dinner, wrapping up with an evening campfire program at the fire bowl. Saturday Crackerbarrel will be after the campfire. Dens and Packs are encouraged to perform a song or skit!   

Sunday: Pack up Camp, have breakfast, and head home. There will be an optional Scouts’ Own Interfaith Service.

Campsites will be assigned based on group size, and we will keep Packs together.

Activities: Climbing Wall, BB guns, Archery, Hiking, Games, Stargazing, Knots, Crafts, and more! Specific activities and locations will available at check-in.

NEW - 3% CREDIT CARD PAYMENT PROCESSING FEE:  Anyone who pays their fees online with a credit card (beginning January 1, 2022) will also pay the 3% processing fee. Choose the Mail-in Payment Option (it looks like an envelope) to avoid these fees.

NEW - .5% (1/2%) E-CHECK PAYMENT PROCESSING FEE: The e-check option has been reactivated, and now has a .5% (1/2%) processing fee.  Choose the Mail-in Payment Option (looks like an envelope) to avoid these fees. 

MAIL-IN PAYMENT OPTION: The Mail-in Payment Options shuts off 15 days before the event, so make sure to complete your online registration before that date to avoid the above processing fees.  You can mail or bring a check to the council office (make payable to): Northeast Illinois Council B.S.A., 850 Forest Edge Drive, Vernon Hills, IL  60061, or NEIC Units can have an authorized user approve payment from their Scout Store Account.
