Training for Cold Weather Camping
This Cold Weather Camping Training Course is a “High Adventure” training program that expands Scouts and Venturers plus adult Scouters & Advisors knowledge of how to prepare themselves, plan for the proper nutrition and equipment, when the high temperature of the day is 50 degrees or below with inclement weather.

MINIMUM YOUTH REQUIREMENTS
- First Class Scout
- 14 years old
- Has the Camping Merit Badge.
The objectives of the Cold Weather Camping Training Course Course are to:
- Build confidence in the participant’s ability and excitement to camp ALL year-around.
- Expand each Unit / Crew’s Outdoor program.
- Provide experienced Scouts / Venturers and Scouters / Advisors who can and will share the OKPIK Training with their Unit / Crew.
This course is limited to the first 50 registrants.
The Course consists of three Classroom periods and an Outdoor practical. All sessions must be completed fully to finish the Course.
The classroom sessions will be held at our office: The Kasperson Center for Scouting, 850 Forest Edge Dr, Vernon Hills, IL 60061. A scout uniform is expected for all classroom sessions.

The outdoor session will be held at Camp Sol R Crown, 11651 304th Ave. (County Road B), Trevor, WI 53179
