OKPIK Cold Weather Training

This Cold Weather Camping Training Course is a “High Adventure” training program that expands Scouts and Venturers plus adult Scouters & Advisors knowledge of how to prepare themselves, plan for the proper nutrition and equipment, when the high
temperature of the day is 50 degrees or below with inclement weather.
The objectives of the Cold Weather Camping Training Course Course are to:
- Build confidence in the participant’s ability and excitement to camp ALL year-around.
- Expand each Unit / Crew’s Outdoor program.
- Provide experienced Scouts / Venturers and Scouters / Advisors who can and will share the Cold Weather Camping Training with their Unit / Crew.
The Course consists of three Classroom periods and an Outdoor practical. All sessions must be completed fully to finish the Course.
The classroom sessions will be held at CDW, 200 N Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills, IL 60061. A scout uniform is expected for all classroom sessions.

The outdoor session will be held at Camp Sol R Crown, 11651 304th Ave. (County Road B), Trevor, WI 53179
