Each year, thousands of Scouts have an unforgettable summer at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation. Located in the North Woods of Wisconsin, Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan consists of over 1,500 acres of beautiful forest, six spring-fed lakes, and a natural creek. The reservation is home to two full-service camps, a wilderness camp, a high adventure base, and a horse ranch.

Committed to excellence for over 85 years, Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan is one of a handful of scout camps in the nation to receive a perfect accreditation rating from the BSA. Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan is located in Pearson, 25 miles northeast of Antigo, Wisconsin.

BSA Health Form:  Go to "Attachments" for the link to the  National BSA webpage.  Click on, "Are You Going Camping?" to complete Part A and B.  Print with Part C, which must be completed and signed/dated by a professional healthcare provider after your medical appointment.

PPE Surcharge:  To ensure we are well equipped for COVID-19 in 2021, we have added a $15 PPE Surcharge that is automatically selected as an additional charge when you register each participant. 

TRADITIONAL (LONG-TERM) CAMP

Once your Troop or Crew has reserved a campsite, your Camp Coordinator will be added to our email list.  In October, he or she will be emailed instructions, deadlines, registration links, etc., so when registration opens on November 1, they can immediately begin to sign up scouts and adults from your unit.  Remember, Long Term (traditional) Camp registrations must be completed by the unit's camp coordinator, only.

Scoutmasters and Crew Advisors:  Contact Debi at the council office if you are unsure who is listed as your camp coordinator, or if someone else has taken over that role (and you want to ensure she was informed).  Thank you.  

PROVISIONAL CAMP

Provisional Camp is for Scouts who cannot attend Traditional (Resident) Camp the same week as their Troop or Crew, want to stay an additional week, or whose troop is not in attendance.  During each of our six weeks of Traditional Camp, Provisional Scouts will participate in the same week-long merit badge program.  Sorry, this program is not available for adults.

Steps to Register your Scout as a Provisional Camper:

• Choose the week of camp your Scout wants to attend. Make sure you choose Provisional Scout (not Scout) from the list. Then, Click on "MSR Week ___".
• Registration Contact (Blue Banner) - You as the parent/legal guardian are the Registration Contact.  Provide your Scout's unit information on this page (it may be different than yours).  Provide your (daytime) phone and email address here, not those for the Youth.
• Provisional Scout (Grey Banner) - To the left, it will show the number of Provisional Scouts you are registering. Click on "Update Information" (Red box).  This is also where you tell us who the Scout will be "Attending With" (see below).
• If all information is entered correctly, the font for "Participant" (top of page) will change from red to black.
• Make sure to click on the "Check-out" tab to complete the registration and pay (or choose to mail in the payment within that deadline).

Attending With:

1. Another Unit: Some Scouts have friends in another unit, who will host them for the week. Make arrangements to stay with them, but pay the fees yourself.  Or, they can add your scout as a Provisional Camper to their registration.  Ask them about transportation to and from camp for your Scout.  If completing this registration yourself, list your scout's unit number.  You will be asked for your scout's unit leader information and the other troop's number.

2. Camp's Unit:  We will provide a unit with 2-deep leadership for your Scout, so he can attend the week that works best for him.  If making this choice, list your scout's unit number and his unit leader's information.
