Pinewood Derby Races-Council Supported

Is your Pack looking for a way to hold your Pinewood Derby?  

The Northeast Illinois Council will have a track set up for your Pack to host your own in-person Pinewood Derby Races! A dedicated volunteer will be able to run a scoreboard and timer so you can keep tabs on which cars are the speediest. If your Pack would like to livestream the event for family members, please plan ahead to do so with your own equipment. Registration is by Pack, not separately as families. Your Cubmaster or a Pack Coordinator should complete the registration for the entire Pack (No individual registrations will be accepted.) Thank you! 

Car Inspection:  All cars must be inspected and approved by your Pack before being dropped off at the council service center at least two days before the date of your race. 

Please remember to drop off the Inspected Pinewood Derby cars and a registration spreadsheet at the Kasperson Center before 5 PM, the Friday before your race weekend.

Cost: $2.50 per Derby Car (names are not required) until registration closes, then $3.50 at the door (for walk-ins from the same Pack). NO REFUNDS if you pay for more race car slots than needed on Race Day.

Duration: 60 minutes

PACK REGISTRATIONS ONLY: Only ONE PACK can register for each Start Time, and it can only complete one registration. Interested families should contact their Pack Leader.”

The Build-a-Car Pinewood Derby Workshop is on January 25, 2025 (registration closes Jan. 24, so sign up today!) - For the woodworking stages of your car only, please paint them at home.
