Brotherhood Lock-In 

Fun and Fellowship for All Members

 

Join us for an overnight Lock-In filled with games, food, and fun. And, if you are an Ordeal member for at least 6 months, you can earn your Brotherhood!

NORTHEAST ILLINOIS COUNCIL UNITS: Use the Autofill button next to each participant spot to add names. If a name is not listed, use the Update Information button instead. Contact your Unit Leader if they should be on our list to ensure the participant is properly registered; include Debi Geiger or Sam Dummer in the email so they are informed of their BSA status.

Cost: 

  • Attendee Only: $10 (Pizza, Ice Cream, Drinks)
  • Brotherhood Induction: Add $25 for the Brotherhood Fee, so $35 total
    • To earn your Brotherhood, you must have your dues paid for 2024. You can pay dues at OA Dues 2024.

Food Provided: 

  • Pizza
  • Icecream
  • Soft Drinks

Times: 5:00 PM Saturday to 9:00 AM Sunday 

Ordeal members wishing to earn their Brotherhood should arrive before 7 PM. 

What to Bring:

  • Sleeping Pad
  • Sleeping Bag
  • Pillow
  • Change of clothes
  • Field Uniform - wear for the Brotherhood Ceremony
  • Sash - wear for the Brotherhood Ceremony
  • Activity Uniform (Scout related T-shirt)
  • Video Game Console - optional
  • Video Games - optional
  • Board Games - optional
  • Monitor - optional (We have several TVs already that we will be using)
  • Extension cord - optional
  • Power Strip - optional
  • Movies - optional (please make sure these are appropriate for the audience)
  • Cards and Card Games
  • BSA Medical Form - Parts A & B 

Schedule:

Saturday
5:00 PM - Arrival and fun begins
7:15 PM - Brotherhood candidates break-out
7:45 PM - Brotherhood Hike
8:00 PM - Brotherhood Ceremony

Sunday
12:00 AM - Quiet time to allow those that wish to sleep to do so
7:30 AM - Wake-up
7:45 AM - Clean Up
9:00 AM - Depart

Can I Attend If I Am Not a Member of the OA

Yes as long as the following criteria is met.

  • If you are a youth under 18 and registered in the Scouts BSA or Venturing programs, you may attend even if you are not an OA member yet.
  • If you are a Youth+ (18-20 years old) and not an OA Member, you must be registered in the Scouts BSA (adult) or Venturing (youth) program and have a valid Youth Protection certification (within 2 years of Feb 8).
  • If you are an adult (21+), you must be registered as an adult leader in the BSA and have a valid Youth Protection certification (within 2 years of Feb 8).

Make sure the Memo line mentions your registration number.
