Akela Camp @ MSR

Event Details

Attention all Cub Scout Packs and Families!

Join us as we explore our overnight camp nestled in the Northwoods.

Akela Camp is held at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation in Pearson, Wisconsin. Cubs get to experience an immersive Scouting program, from swimming and boating at the waterfront to hiking, leatherworking, shooting sports, and sleeping in beautiful East Camp.  Your Cub Scouts will have access to the full resources of a world-class Scouts BSA camp.  Sign up today!

Attending as a Den is strongly encouraged but not required. For Webelos, attending as a Den is a great way to provide an exciting finish to their time together in Cub Scouts.  Your Den Chief is invited to attend as well.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENT PROCESSING FEE:  Anyone who pays their fees online with a credit card (beginning January 1, 2022) will also pay the 3% processing fee. Choose the Mail-in Payment Option (it looks like an envelope) to avoid these fees.

E-CHECK PAYMENT PROCESSING FEE: The e-check option has been reactivated, and now has a 0.5% (1/2%) processing fee.  Choose the Mail-in Payment Option (it looks like an envelope) to avoid these fees.

MAIL-IN PAYMENT OPTION: The Mail-in Payment Options shuts off 15 days before the event, so make sure to complete your online registration before that date to avoid the above processing fees.  You can mail or bring a check to the council office (make payable to): Northeast Illinois Council B.S.A., 850 Forest Edge Drive, Vernon Hills, IL  60061, or NEIC Units can have an authorized user approve payment from their Scout Store Account. SCHOLARSHIPS (Financial Assistance)

Thanks to many generous Northeast Illinois Council donors, we are able to provide scholarships for all or part of Scouts’ camp fees. We never want financial challenges to stand in the way of the Scouting experience. Families who are interested should fill out the 2022 NEIC Camps Scholarship Application. Please read the information and instructions carefully before completing it for each scout in your family.  Applications are due at 11:59 PM on MAY 31, 2022. The process is completely confidential.

If you are a Scout leader or Camp Coordinator, consider forwarding this link to all your families, even if they haven’t signed up for camp yet or asked about financial assistance.  IMPORTANT: Since this application asks for personal and confidential information, you cannot complete it for your families.
