Akela (Webelos) Camp @ MSR
Attention all Cub Scout Packs and families!
If your scout will be a Webelos I or Webelos II this summer or fall, come to Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan to watch them experience the full Boy Scout program. Participate in activities designed just for your scouts who will have the chance to scale our climbing wall, swim and sail in Lake Killian, and enjoy all that Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan has to offer.
This 4-day, 3-night experience gives your Webelos the opportunity to gain a sense of independence, have fun in the great outdoors, and even earn advancements. We are one of the premiere Boy Scout camps in the country, and attending camp keeps Boy Scouts engaged in the program.
We encourage Webelos and adults from the same Pack or Den to attend the same session when possible, so they can share this wonderful experience at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation. But whether you attend as a Pack, Den, or family, you and your Webelos Scout will be able to participate in these life-changing opportunities together. Best of all, spend the 4th of July week camping with your Webelos and see the famous Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan 4th of July parade!
BSA WEBELOS CAMPING REQUIREMENT: The BSA released the new camping guidelines for Webelos (found in current Safe Guide to Scouting). The most important change to note is that ALL Webelos need an adult partner for any overnight camping. This means each of your Webelos would need a parent or guardian with them to attend Akela (Webelos Resident) Camp.
BSA Health Form: The pdf document previously provided is no longer valid. Go to "Attachments" for the link to the National web page. Click on, "All Scouting Events" to complete Part A and B for each participant from your family.
