Akela (Webelos) Camp @ MSR **SUSPENDED**
Attention all Cub Scout Packs and families!
Akela Camp is an opportunity for your Webelos Scout to see what’s next on the horizon in the Scouts BSA program. Held at our award-winning resident camp this program gives Cub Scouts an introduction to sleep-away camping with the comfort of having a parent or guardian close by. Join us in the Northwoods this summer--Enjoy sailing, canoeing, archery, handicraft, and sleep under the stars in our brand new platform tents. Coming to camp increases a Scout's chances of staying active in the program, and best of all, you get to enjoy this experience alongside them! Do you have a Scout in Scouts BSA? Encourage them to attend as a den chief!
This 4-day, 3-night experience gives your Webelos the opportunity to gain a sense of independence, have fun in the great outdoors, and even earn advancements.
We encourage Webelos and adults from the same Pack or Den to attend the same session when possible, so they can share this wonderful experience at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation. But whether you attend as a Pack, Den, or family, you and your Webelos Scout will be able to participate in these life-changing opportunities together. Best of all, spend the 4th of July week camping with your Webelos and see the famous Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan 4th of July parade!
BSA CUB SCOUT OVERNIGHT CAMPING REQUIREMENT: Each youth member will be under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
In special circumstances, a Cub Scout whose parent or legal guardian is not able to attend an overnight camping trip may participate under the supervision of another registered adult member of the BSA who is a parent of a Cub Scout who is also attending. The unit leader and a parent or legal guardian must agree to the arrangement, and all Youth Protection policies apply. At no time may another adult accept responsibility for more than one additional “non-family member” youth.
BSA Health Form: The pdf document previously provided is no longer valid. Go to "Attachments" for the link to the National web page. Click on, "All Scouting Events" to complete Part A and B for each participant from your family.
