Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation is proud to be a Nationally Accredited High Adventure Base. We are offering many different adventures for your troop or crew.  Whether you are interested in taking in the vistas on foot at one of our backpacking destinations, paddling through the great rivers of the north woods on our kayaking or canoe treks, or relaxing on sailboats in Lake Superior, there is sure to be a trek for you!

TREKS MUST BE CONFIRMED FIRST. Email HighAdventure@makajawan.com and Debi.Geiger@scouting.org for availability. Once approved, you will be emailed instructions and the password to register for your specific trek.

TREK WEEKS - Saturday Arrival Dates for Boundary Waters and Isle Royale - Units must arrive one day before the arrival date listed below:

• Week 1 - June 21-27, 2027
• Week 2 - June 28 - July 4, 2027
• Week 3 - July 5-11, 2027
• Week 4 - FULL
• Week 5 - July 19-25, 2027
• Week 6 - July 26-August 1, 2027

When registering, choose the Week of your trek, and then your Participant Types.  Example: Select Week 2, then choose Apostle Island Scout, Apostle Island Adult. You must enter the trek-specific password (you were emailed with this event link) after telling us how many of each "participant type."

NOTE: The Apostle Islands and Boundary Waters treks are only offered during Weeks 2 and 6 of our summer camp (Week 4 is no longer available). The rest are offered all six weeks.

TREK FEES COVER AND PROVIDE

• Your Unit’s licenses and permits for the trek
• Gear shakedown at camp
• Camping space in Wabaningo before and after the trek
• Food before and after the trek
• Food, equipment, and supplies during the trek
• Camping fees, vehicle passes, ferry passage, as needed
• Transport of food, supplies, guide, canoe trailer, as needed

SCHOLARSHIPS - NEIC Camps Scholarships are no longer available for high adventure treks.
