Indoor Rifle Merit Badge Day

Join us for our March Indoor Rifle Merit Badge Day!
Trained and qualified volunteers will staff this event, where Scouts BSA youth and Venturing crews can complete the Rifle Shooting Merit Badge in its entirety or focus solely on the shooting portion—bring your blue card either way!
COST - ONE SESSION: 10 AM TO 1:30 PM (possibly 2 PM).
- $10 – Northeast Illinois Council Scouts BSA Youth and Venturing Crew Members
- $20 – Out of Council Scouts BSA Youth and Venturing Crew Members

PRE-REQUISITES
- All participants should print out and complete requirements 1 and 2; Section B from the workbook and bring the filled copy with them to verify.
- These will be included in pages 1-3 and 8-10 from this workbook: http://usscouts.org/mb/worksheets/rifle-shooting.pdf
- For those using Scoutbook(recommended). Please assign Matt Maj (mmaj1999@yahoo.com) as the youth's Rifle Merit Badge Counselor ahead of time if possible.
- For those using blue cards, you must provide your own. We highly recommend using Scoutbook instead
REQUIREMENTS
- Read the Rifle Shooting MB Pamphlet.
- Review the requirements: Option B for Air Rifles.
- Print, complete, and bring the worksheet with you – Option B for Air Rifles.
- Bring a completed Blue Card signed by their troop Scoutmaster.
CLASS STRUCTURE
- We will start with a safety briefing for everyone first. Please do not be late to the start time.
- Participants will be split into 2 cycles one group will do bookwork and the other will be shooting and cleaning. We will then rotate as each group completes their requirements.
- Participants may complete their merit badge requirements ahead of the 1:30pm end time, they do not need to stay to the end if the do not wish to. If all participants complete their merit badges ahead of time, then the remainder time may be used for additional fun shooting time.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PARTICIPANT LIMITS: We have five lanes for five shooters on the range at one time, rotating with other scouts within those positions. If fewer than 20 sign up, each participant will have more time to shoot.
